A day in the life of…
1. Tell me what your role involves.
My role involved analysing and defining a process for machining various complex components, creating fixtures and work holding systems. I also create NC programs for new parts and look at ways of improving existing processes.
2. What attracted you to join SST?
One of the main reasons I decided to join SST was the variety and complexity of the work I would be undertaking. Coming from a high volume, less complex environment the opportunity to challenge myself in a motorsport environment where I get involved in many projects which require complex machined items was a big factor.
Also, the investment that was going into the business, whether it was the facilities, training opportunities or new equipment matched my ambitions for development.
3. What did you do before you came here?
I was a CNC programmer/setter/operator for Oxalis Group. Oxalis manufactured closed-circuit TV camera stations, public address/general alarm systems and other electrical products for the hazardous area, marine, and industrial communications markets.
4. What do you love about working here?
I enjoy the variety of projects we work on and the challenges that these bring. All of this is complimented by the support of my work colleagues.
