SSTT Vertically Integrates with Full 5 Axis CNC Machining
SSTT a Fit for Nuclear business has recently complemented it’s precision fabrication and thermal insulation manufacturing departments with the acquisition of a turnkey machining capability certified to ISO9001 and working to standards equivalent to AS9100. The newly developed machine shop is honed to machine some of the most challenging materials such as high Nickel alloys and regularly deals with the machining of castings and additive layer components which require extra care and attention.
It has full 5 axis capability plus bar fed lathes which helps support lights out running. The largest of the machining centres has an incredibly large bed of 3.5m x 0.8m meaning it’s possible to machine larger structures including large fabricated assemblies which need post machining operations.
To complement the machining operation SSTT has purchased a fully automated DEA CMM, this ensures we can accurately check all machined components to incredibly tight tolerances during the prototype phase prior to establishing a more appropriate gauging method as the volumes increase.
SSTT can offer machining as part of the larger fabricated assembly or alternatively offer discrete component level machining as required.
