SS Tube Technology exhausts were used by 18 out of the 33 cars that qualified for the 2010 Indy 500 race. 4 of the top 5 qualifiers were using SS Tube Technology exhausts. During the race, however, several of the favourites experienced problems and dropped out of contention for a win. Despite this 5 of the top 10 finishers were using SS Tube Technology systems.

SS Tube Technology worked with Honda Performance Developments in California to develop a heat shield system to protect the engine, bodywork and electronics on the IRL cars from the high heat given off by the exhaust systems during this extreme test of a racing car. We supply the entire field with these heat shields, which are now mandatory for the IRL Series.
