A Successful Journey at SST!
In August 2013, Cain Reddick started as our first apprentice, this is a four year apprenticeship program in Mechanical Engineering NVQ level 3.
SST’s goal for the Apprenticeship Program is for students to learn two core skills within the business to complement their studies.
Cain started his on the job learning in the Insulation process area and then went onto the Welding/Fabrication process area. Rob Allen, Operations Director said, “He has now completed his Apprenticeship and has fully met our expectations. Well-done Cain for not only passing the Apprenticeship and gaining a full time position with us, but also for demonstrating that the multi-skilled concept is now a workable reality, which is benefiting the business on a daily basis. As this multi-skilled concept can benefit Apprentices, it has demonstrated that we can encourage all our employees to do so to improve the manufacturing flexibility that is required to meet our customers’ needs.”
Since 2013, SST have taken on two Apprentices each year however due to the ever expanding business we are now taking on 6 Apprentices for this year’s intake.
